Hawking actually proved some rigorous mathematical theorems about Einstein’s equations for gravity that showed that, under quite general circumstances, there were places where the equations broke down — what are called singularities.

He then showed that, if you added quantum mechanics to the game, you could show that, in fact, black holes were not really black. They actually emitted radiation.“

Hawking radiation is blackbody radiation that is predicted to be released by black holes, due to quantum effects near the event horizon.

One of  greatest scientists ever, that has once walked upon this beautiful the Earth left for the distant stars on 14^th March 2018 at the age of 76.
